Clamp Light Gallery is so very pleased to host the new exhibition, American of Mexican Origin, by David Zamora Casas!  David came into the gallery space and transformed our space into a magical realm with painting, sculpture, and wonderful little fairies!  The reception was a huge success and coincided with the 6th Annual On and Off Fredericksburg Road Tour.  There are still some wonderful artworks still available but only until March 2.

Colonies

Dyan Green: “Colonies”

Clamp Light gallery started off 2013 with a great exhibition by local San Antonio artist, Dyan Green in the gallery space.  If you missed her exhibit in Jan., you definitely want to get the chance to see her work in person.  The attention to detail with the found objects that she alters is amazing and beautiful!

Originally from Kansas, Dyan Green is a locally-based artist and educator who primarily uses found objects and everyday materials to create sculptures, installations, and two-dimensional works. Her new series “Colonies” begins with the collection of disparate items that straddle the boundaries between rusted antiques and disused junk. Green then creates sculptures by adorning these objects with thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of pins — a process she describes as “a human attempt at hive-building and an investigation of what a colony has left behind.”

Sarah T. Roberts: "Fray"

Clamp Light Gallery is very pleased to announce the new exhibition from current Resident Artist, Sarah T. Roberts on view Dec. 5 - Jan. 4 with a reception on Friday, Dec. 14 from 6-9pm.

Typically employing elements of metalsmithing and jewelry design to explore the boundaries between “fact and fantasy, isolation and intimacy, and reality and desire,” local artist Sarah T. Roberts makes a soft departure with “Fray.” Constructed entirely from women’s garments, Roberts’ site-specific installation is the latest development in her creative mission to manipulate “the fetish object.”

My new Hollywood Glamorous Collection on the DownTown Gallery display till May 5,2013. I'm really excited to hear from people lovable remarks about exhibit. Focusing on this old illustration has been refreshing and I could totally see myself eventually spending a lot more time and energy on gallery projects than on the commissions.
