Feride Demircan: New Works Exhibition

For our April exhibition, we are pleased to be exhibiting new works by Feride Demircan in the gallery space at Clamp Light!  Feride uses natural handmade pigments, ground by herself, to create beautifully rendered paintings on parchment paper.

Feride focuses on the commonalities between Native American People and Anatolian Shamanist People.  Her current exhibition is a comparative study using handmade pigments and focusing on the shared historical adornments, embroideries and daily expressions of both cultures.  Although these two cultures adopted their own artistic styles during their evolutions and were influenced by different faiths and civilizations, Feride emphasizes the similarities they share, compassion for nature, lifestyle, ceremony, and rich culture.

The reception for the artist is on Friday, April 12 from 6-9pm, we hope to see you there!
