WATERCOLOR PRINTS IN STYLE

It is been a nice and exiting week! I had a blast with my family on vacation at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club this week.

This place was established in 1928 and I think they still manage to project a relaxing and fun atmosphere, with is great for a family reunion or just plain rest and relaxation!

TREND: WATERCOLOR PRINTS

A beautiful look for spring and summer, watercolor prints bring an artistic vibe to any piece. Watercolor prints can be abstract or detailed and come in a wide variety of patterns, colors, or images. There’s a watercolor print piece for every taste!

We love the soft, muted look of watercolor, especially in bright colors or pastels for the warmer months. Read on for examples of ways to wear watercolors!

OLD FRENCH DOORS and FAÇADES

I continue to be fascinated by the variety of doors in Paris!

CLASSIC

OLD

 and NEW

Today I wanted to share on of my favorite quotes from Helen Keller:

"When one door of happiness closes
another opens!
But often we look so long at the closed door
that we do not see the one
which has been opened for us."

Which door might be opening up for you today?

xoxo, Lana

Five THINGS that make me HAPPY

Today I decided to get down to business and clean out some things for the summer arrival of my youngest son after graduating from aviation academy. I did what I NEVER thought I would do....
I threw out (not true.... I carefully placed on the curb for recycling :) all of my beloved ..... magazines!

Never mind that they broke my husband's grandma's dresser with their sagging weight or that I can probably find every single image that was ever in them in Pinterest now. It was still a nostalgic moment for me!

5 things that make me happy..... so here goes:

  1. Art and every part of it - Making it, Sharing it, Talking about it, Selling it, and Discovering it...

2. Traveling and seeing new places and learning about new cultures ... getting inspired .... and enjoying their culinary tidbits...

3.  ETSY community and a lot of new opportunities and of course more new challenges every day.....

4 .  A good book makes me happy - this one I got from my last trip to Paris and now it is on my nightstand... or a new Project Runway episode (... I can't wait for a new episode ... hopefully this summer :)

5. And last but not least, What Makes Me Happy:

My boys' big and small accomplishments and as mom my opportunity to enjoy those small moments together that make for unforgettable memories.....
Congrats!

This list can go on and on .... If my list has inspired you let me know what is on your list of favorites!

Sim+Exp: presented by Art-Hunger Collective

This month Art-Hunger Collective takes over our gallery and will share a live performance as part of their exhibition. Art-Hunger was formed for emerging and established artists who have the desire to show their artwork, sell, socialize, learn, share, network, practice their skills and gain exposure. The Collective has fostered strong relationships for artists in Fort Worth, by organizing dozens of exhibitions, fundraisers, and community projects.

Artwork by John Worley, Mike Moffatt, and Nick C. Kirk will be featured and though each artist possesses their own unique style, together they weave cinematic imagery, surrealism and mockery into a balanced  blend of myth, observation, and satire. We look forward to having them as our guests.

The reception for the artists is on June 14, from 7pm to 10pm .
Hope to See you there!

May was a good month at Clamp Light!

May was a busy month for us here at Clamp Light. Our Alumni Exhibiton was a fantastic, fun filled night spent with friends and our fundraising effort was a success. We now have a budget for several much desired improvements to our gallery!

We were also saddened by the departure of Erin Hernsberger as a member of our group. May was her last month with us and we wish her well and much success as she continues to educate young San Antonio artists and in creating more exceptional photographic work.

Our search for a new resident artist was quicker and easier than we could have imagined. The response to our search was swift and after meeting with potential candidates, looking over portfolios and CV's, we were happy to find ourselves interviewing one candidate in particular via Skype from his home in Lubbock. It turns out he was as excited about us as as we were about him and we would like to welcome Tom Turner as Clamp Light's newest resident artist and co-director! You can learn more about Tom and check out his work by visiting his website http://tomturnerphotography.photoshelter.com

He will be joining us in July and we are happy to have you Tom! Bienvenidos a San Antonio!
