Wesley Harvey: dreaming in gold

Clamp Light Gallery is pleased to announce our new exhibition, dreaming in gold, an exhibition of new artworks by Wesley Harvey, a current Resident Artist and Co-Director of Clamp Light Artist Studios and Gallery.  For this exhibition, he continues his exploration into Queer Theory looking at both the normative and deviant behaviors by utilizing the collage process on his ceramic vessels.  Heavily influenced by the imagery of Tom of Finland, drag queens, and personal ads online, he creates narratives of normal and or deviant behaviors and incorporates vintage floral decals with an excess of gold and glitter.

Wesley has moved away from commercially produced dinnerware to start his collage process and has begun using the hand building technique to create large vessels, teapots, plates, and of course, a very special Alamo for the exhibition.  For this exhibit, glitter and gold will be infused with sexual identity to take the viewer to places they may not normally attend.

The reception for the artists will be held on Friday, November 8 from 7-10pm and will be held in conjunction with 2nd Friday Beacon Hill Art Walk.

Hope to see you there!
