The Color of Memory

Hello Clamp-Lightians. We are pleased to announce that our new gallery space is up and running just in time for Clamp Light Resident Artist and Co-Director Tom Turner's Fotoseptiembre Exhibition; The Color of Memory.

Images exploring the cliché National Park photo, Colorful movements recorded on Transparency Separations, and Single Chanel Videos are just a few things that come to mind when viewing Turner's new exhibition. Using photographs taken this past year on his many adventures to National Parks. He is creating work reminiscent of scientific children's books that use transparencies to illustrate an idea. Overlaying three of the similar images, taken minutes or hours apart, we are introduced to the passage of time upon the landscape by the redistribution of component colors (Red, Green, and Blue).
Through traditional inkjet prints, floating photographic transparencies and video Turner is questioning the memory of our past photographic experiences.

The opening reception for the artist will be held Friday, September 12th from 7pm to 10pm at 1704 Blanco Road Suit 104.

Hope to see you soon!

Carol  Cunningham

Resident Artist
Co-Director
